Job Description :

Dietz Brothers Music has been teaching high quality lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in the South Bay since 1976. We teach over 300 private lessons a week, have year-round group classes and a very successful Summer of Rock program that we’ve been running for 12 years.

We are currently looking for 2-3 upbeat, fun and engaging teachers who teach piano, violin, viola or cello. Multi-instrumentalists are more than welcome! All applicants should have some experience teaching. We offer training, lesson plans and mentorship to newer teachers and higher starting pay for teachers with more experience and education.

The owner and managers handle all student billing and payment. Teachers only have to take attendance and teach lessons!

Responsibilities:

-Maintain a high level of professionalism including arriving 30 minutes early to prepare the room and materials, get messages and return phone calls.

-Timely responses in all communications with students and office staff.

-Take proper attendance for all your students.

-Be prepared with lesson plans, books and materials for students of various ages and skill levels.
- Instruct students on music theory, techniques, and performance skills.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to enhance their musical abilities.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to coordinate performances and events.

Skills:

-Meet your students where they are and finding music that is relatable to the students.
- Ability to educate students in various musical genres including rock, pop, classical, etc.
- Experience teaching children and adults.
- Proficiency in curriculum development tailored to different age groups.
- Previous experience in teaching private or group music lessons is preferred.
- Familiarity with creating engaging lesson plans that cater to individual student needs.

Qualifications:

-College degree in music is preferred.
- Must have a strong background in teaching music, with a focus on violin, viola, cello, or piano.
- Experience in developing engaging and effective curricula for music education programs is essential.
- Proficiency in classroom management and tutoring, especially with children and adults.
